A creative workshop facilitated by Ubuntu Arts at Redbridge CVS, Ilford. The theme proposed for the workshop is 'journey', an invitation to join us in creating a personal record in form of a book of your unique and personal journey.

We will be running workshops from 17th April to 19th June 2012, Every Tuesday from 1.30pm - 4.00pm at RedbridgeCVS, 3rd Floor, Forest House, 16,20 Clements Road, Ilford,IG1 1BA

Cuts to the Discretionary Freedom Pass

The Discretionary Freedom Pass is provided by councils to mental health service users. About 8,500 people in London have one, though eligibility criteria differ a great deal borough to borough.

But following council consultations, hundreds of people have had their Freedom Passes taken away.

Mental health problems and a victim of crime?

Are you affected by anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or other problems? We're looking for people with mental health problems who have been victims of crime to take part in research interviews about their experience. We want to know how you were helped after the crime, and hear about any problems you had.

Redbridge Adult Social Services has launched a new online Adult Information Directory called MyLife for people looking for information, advice and support services in Redbridge.

Report: Long-term conditions and mental health

People with long-term conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease, are two to three times more likely to experience mental health problems than the general population. However, a systemic failure to identify these problems and provide effective support is resulting in poorer outcomes for patients and could be costing the NHS billions, says a report published by The King's Fund and Centre for Mental Health.

NELFT Mental Health Direct is a telephone helpline service available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

If you live in Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, or Havering you can call for mental health help and advice anytime of the day or night.

NELFT Mental Health Direct can arrange for you to speak with a mental health professional and can also advise you about what service to contact to get the support you need.
