To celebrate mental health and well-being in October we are hosting a number of events:
An author talk and workshop in partnership with AWAZ on 7 October where Anna Young will be talking about her experience of writing her first novel.
Friday 10 October is World Mental Health Day at Ilford Town Hall. There will be lots of activities including information stalls, free health checks, music and refreshments.
On Sunday 12 October Forest Farm Peace Garden welcome everyone to their annual Arts and Crafts Day featuring: wood carving; mosaic making; a drumming circle and freshly harvested lunch in the garden.
Does religion promote good mental health? Are religious people happier than others? Come along and find out on Tuesday 14 October when Dr Simon Dein will be talking about Religion and Mental Health.
And, on Wednesday 15 October in partnership with The Redbridge Arts Development Team and Waterstone's we will be holding an author event with Sathnam Sanghera who is an award winning journalist who now works for The Times.
Sathnam will be reading extracts from his new book part of which explores his discovery in his early twenties that his father and sister had been diagnosed with schizophrenia.
