It was disappointing to read ONEL's strategy which hardly mentions mental ill-health despite the fact that no other health condition matches mental illness in the combined extent of prevalence, persistence, and breadth of impact.
The strategy also appears to largely ignore the Coalition Government's Mental Health Strategy: No Health Without Mental Health and the underlying theme that mental health is everyone's business.

There is a strong association between mental and physical ill health. People with long-term conditions, such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease, have significantly raised rates of depression, anxiety and other mental health problems, referred to as co-morbidity.
Evidence suggests that many of these people receive poorer quality care than those with a single condition.
