Alzheimer Cafe - Tuesday March 9th 2010

For everyone interested or affected by Alzheimer's or other forms of Dementia - the Alzheimer Cafe, Redbridge has invited Tina Sinclair from Age Concern (Redbridge) to talk about Falls Awareness and the top tips on preventing trips and slips.

The event is on Tuesday March 9th 2010 from 11am to 1pm at IRDSA Hall, Craven Gardens, Barkingside, IG6 1PS (Next to car park)

NHS Direct Launches online Mental Health Advice

NHS Direct has launched an online mental health symptom checker to find out how you can deal with common mental health conditions.

They can provide confidential advice and information. They will ask a series of questions, which the enquirer should answer carefully so they can give you the best advice.

Personal Trainer Opportunity

Saturday Drop in - 13 March - For people living with dementia and their families

The next Saturday Drop in is on Saturday 13th March the Living Well Resource Centre, 372 Chadwell Heath Lane, Romford, RM6 4YG from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

There will be plenty of information about dementia services as well as refreshments and complementary therapy tasters.

Redbridge Music Lounge - Wednesday 10th March & 24th March 2010

The Redbridge Music Lounge aims to establish an opportunity to network with local musicans, of all genres and ages, to promote, develop and perform the diverse musical culture found within our local community.

The venue is for talented musicians who are retired, in part-time work, unemployed or semi-professional, even if committed to bands/groups already, but have time and expertise to offer and share mainly, for daytime projects.

Rehearsal equipment and performing facilities are avilable too.

Job Opportunity - Hearing Voices Development Worker (Prisons and Secure Units)

Mind in Camden is currently seeking a motivated and creative individual for the post of development worker on their new and exciting 3 year project to set up peer support/self help groups for prisoners who hear voices, see visions or have other unusual sensory experiences.

This unique opportunity will involve developing and co-facilitating "Hearing Voices Groups" within London prisons, developing and delivering training to staff and prisoners who hear voices, supporting and developing new facilitators and embedding the groups within the prisons themselves to ensure sustainability.

Health for North East London Consultation

Consultation is currently open on proposals for the future of hospital healthcare in north east London, and will continue until 22nd March 2010.

This consultation follows extensive engagement with clinicians and NHS staff, patients and the public, across the whole area, during recent months.
