RedbridgeCVS and the Redbridge ChangeUp consortium are now recruiting groups to work with our Big Lottery BASIS programme. BASIS will be working intensively with 10 community/voluntary groups for 12 months each, to give them a personalised programme of support to ensure that as an organisation they are: Growing their strengths and addressing their weaknesses; united in the direction they are moving and able to realise the results that ensure they make the difference they desire.

Out and About in Redbridge - What's Going on?

There are a whole range of events going on around Redbridge over the next month including the thinkarts creative writing group; five-a-side training and football with airfootball; open sessions at the Redbridge Music Lounge; free music in the parks; as well as the weekly dementia information and advice drop in at King Georges Hospital.

Paint The Town Red

'Paint the Town Red' is the title of our forthcoming art exhibition, held in partnership with thinkarts, to celebrate World Mental Health Week.

The exhibition will run from the 6 October to 17 October at Central Library, Ilford

Calling All Carers in Redbridge

The Home Carers Pilot is a thirteen month project set up to offer health and wellbeing checks for up to 600 eligible unpaid carers within Redbridge and develop personal action plans, to address all aspects of the carers health and wellbeing needs.

To access the pilot you must: provide unpaid care for someone who is deemed to be at high risk of hospital admission; registered with a Redbridge GP and living in Redbridge.

THE TRIANGLE OF CARE:CARERS INCLUDED - A Best Practice Guide in Acute Mental Health Care

The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and the National Mental Health Development Unit recently published The Triangle of Care - Carers Included: A Best Practice Guide in Acute Mental Health Care.

The guide emphasises the need for better local strategic involvement of carers and families in the care planning and treatment of people with mental ill-health and recommends better partnership working between service users and their carers, and organisations.

Domestic Violence One Stop Shop at Loxford Polyclinic

Everyone has the right to live free from abuse and fear. If you are experiencing domestic violence you may feel frightened, alone and confused. The new weekly Domestic Violence One Stop Shop provides a completely free and confidential service every Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm at the Loxford Polyclinic in Ilford Lane.

There is no need to book an appointment, just turn up and drop in for free confidential help and advice from the police, Independent Domestic Violence Advocates and solicitors.
