"I am a disabled person from a Muslim background. I have physical difficulties as well as mental health problems. In the past 16 months, I have moved into three different private accommodations within the borough.

I have been informed by the Housing that I have no priority to housing, having lived in the area for less than 2 years.

Mental health cuts are 'putting lives at risk'

Six mental health organisations in England have warned that cuts to NHS funding are putting lives at risk, with young people especially affected.

Coping Through Football

Coping Through Football is a project that provides twice weekly football coaching sessions for adults of all abilities. The aim is to use the football experience to get fitter, increase levels of self-esteem and confidence, make new friends and ultimately to help people get their lives back on track.

The sessions are FREE, fun and welcoming and Led by top quality coaches from Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme.

Redbridge Dementia Plan, 2014-2017

Dementia has been described as one of the biggest health and social care challenges of the present day. The healthcare for London dementia services guide has reported that in Redbridge the prevalence of dementia will increase 17% by 2021.

Redbridge Council in partnership with the NHS, service providers in the voluntary and community sectors and with service users and carers have worked together to produce the Redbridge Dementia Plan to improve services and support for people with dementia and their carers in Redbridge.

Help available through the Redbridge Emergency Support Scheme

The scheme will provide financial help in two ways, but ONLY where there is no alternative help available:

Firstly, where urgent short term help is needed in exceptional circumstances, for example after an emergency or disaster, or to prevent serious risk to a person's or their immediate family's health or safety.

Secondly, where a person needs help to establish themselves in Redbridge after being in institutional care, as part of a planned resettlement programme, for example after leaving prison or residential care.

Please note: No cash payments will be made unless exceptional circumstances apply.
